Biography of the artist: She is the daughter of the painter Henri Pauvert (1864-1951), a pupil of Léon Bonnat and William Bouguereau and of Louise Pauvert née Cochet (1870-1950). His parents, as well as his sister Marguerite Pauvert (1902-1983) were also painters. Odette Pauvert was first a pupil of her mother, before joining the studio of the painter Ferdinand Humbert at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris in 1921. She won several successes in her early years: the Jauvin prize 'Attainville was awarded to her in 1922 for Solitude, and she won the test of the sketch painted in 1925 with Adam and Eve.
