JC Delafosse, architect and designer and engraver of ornaments had been approved by the Académie de Bordeaux since 1781, where he exhibited drawings at the Salon. His main works are 4 large series of engravings of decorative motifs, among others: "New Historical Iconology or Hieroglyphic Attributes" (108 fol.), "Decorations, Sculptures, Goldsmiths and Various Ornaments" (24 fol.), "Furnishings". In smaller series, there are models and designs of all kinds for emblems, trophies, facades, portals, fireplaces, tombs, furniture, church utensils, clocks, models of goldsmith's work, etc., drawn with skill and ardor.
