One of the 5 founding painters of the Man Witness group of 1949. The Man Witness Manifesto: The Man Witness is one of the most important manifestos of the 20th century art. In a world where modern art rhymes with superficiality, egocentricity and progress, the witness man is a cry for a return to the human, to feelings in painting. Eight painters constitute the heart of the witness man: Bernard Buffet, Simone Dat, Michel de Gallard, Bernard Lorjou, André Minaux, Yvonne Mottet, Paul Rebeyrolle and Michel Thompson. The Salon de la Jeune Peinture: this salon identifies itself with the new figurative generation and for several years imposes an aesthetic inspired by the Manifesto of the Witness. The salon of painters witnesses of their time: the first salon opened its doors in February 1952 at the modern art auction of the city of Paris. It brings together sixty-two sculptors or painters of all generations representing different trends Exhibition: Paris 1949, Second Manifesto of the Witness Man, Galerie Claude 1949 Exhibition: Les Insoumis de l'Art moderne - Paris, the 1950s - October / December 2016 Eric Mercier, painting of the 1940s, from the art of defeat to the journey of hope, Gazette Drouot n ° 2 reproduced Catalog of the exhibition 1950s, the figurative alternative 1948-1961 Musée d'art Roger Quilliot - The figurative reaction 1948-1958 by Christine Counord, edition Alan Salon d'automne 1946-1947-1948-1949 Salon des Tuileries 1952-1953 Salon des independents 1953-1954-1955 School of Paris 1954-1955 Galerie Wildenstein 1956 Paris Gallery Wildenstein 1957 New-York Galerie Wildenstein 1959 Paris
