Oil on canvas, this is the miraculous account of ST Antony of Padova's sermon to the fish. According to tradition the miracle took place in Rimini, an Italian city in the hands of héretics.
ST Antony of Padua  encountering a wall of silence among the population decides to adress the fish.
The fish begin to emerge from the water by hundreds, by thousands, to hear his words of exhortation and praise

It is very probably Antoine - Marie RAYNOLT, painter, decorator, illustrator, born in 1874 in Toulouse.
He had for masters Benjamin Constant and Jean Paul Laurens.
He exhibited at the Salon of French Artists in Paris. He painted nudes but he also decorated the church of Lahosse, in the Landes department in 1929.

Period: First part of the 20th century.
Condition: Good condition. Fine cracks on the painting .Wear and tear on the frame.
