Bronze tripod after the ancient model from Pompeii, kept at the Archaeological Museum in Naples, Museo Archeologico Nazionale.Hocks of lions from which bearded heads and surmounted by winged sphinxes.
19th century Neapolitan work probably coming out of the studio of brothers Luigi and Francesco Manfredini.
Condition:
- the plate is detachable (old lead solder which can be redone) but the whole is very stable
- a lack of a volute at the level of the spacer, (hardly visible, depending on the angle, see photos)
- missing a ram's head out of 12 (not very visible because at the back? good general condition
Could be used as side table, end of sofa or even as a planter / pot cover.
