Powder Pear Germany, XVIIIth Century Crab And Silver Claw

A curious powder pear made of a crab claw mounted with cut and engraved silver fittings. The movable finger of the pliers has been hollowed out in order to form the container of this pear. Two silver inserts close the natural openings of the main material: on the lower part of the finger, of which we raise the toothed notches, the silver frame is cut in a polylobed manner and incised in its center with plant motifs inscribed in a register . The mouthpiece is also in silver. The cutting follows the same work and the decorations, organized in horizontal friezes, combine plant and geometric patterns. The stopper has a small link chain. A silver teardrop cabochon engraved with a rose with three buttons, centers the body of the powder pear.
