Object description :

"Large Legras Pharmacy Bottle Cap Faceted Cut End XIXth Century"
Corked with the emery of a cut oval stopper with hexagonal facets, this magnificent gourd bottle testifies that the production of Legras Establishments was not only devoted to artistic glassware, but was also partly dedicated to the manufacture of equipment of pharmacy and laboratory articles, the Central Pharmacy of the Paris Hospitals being installed in Plaine Saint Denis near its factories. These pharmacy bottles, of unusual size and shape, are surprisingly rich with their large and heavy cut cap. In addition, the stopper of the bottle offered for sale is slightly tinted amethyst in the mass which is the most beautiful effect with the content, here, emerald green, probably of origin, of the bottle. Height: 46.5 cm. I attach the last photo of a large Parisian pharmacy located in Paris in the 17th arrondissement, which still displays large bottles of this manufacture in its windows. This photo is an extract from the book "Legras verrier" by Marie-Françoise and Jean-François Michel, Nelly Fouchet, Dominique and Jean Vitrat (Argusvalentines) p 147. Given its weight (8, 6 kg) and its content, always present, which must not be spilled, it will be delivered by hand. Many other objects to discover in my stand in the antique fairs in which I participate. Follow my gallery to be informed of news and to know the dates of the next Trade Fairs ... Any questions? Do not hesitate to call me or send me a message. I will answer you with great pleasure.
