Object description :

"Stamped "nogaret In Lyon" - Elegant Shepherdess With Ears - 18th"
Elegant wing chair with molded walnut carved with ribs and flowers. The belt, delicately carved rests on 4 arched feet. Beautiful whip, vigorous, typical of Nogaret. Very nice piece, tapestry in good condition and clean Stamped "Nogaret Lyon" - Louis XV - 18th century The stamp of Nogaret is a line of small capitals (47mm x 2.2mm) and the shape of the Y of Lyon presents a very characteristic disposition, such as the leg is folded on the left horizontally. The location of the Nogaret stamp seems to have been rigorously coded. On the seats with flat caned back, the stamp is on the rear crossmember of the chassis, on the seats with flat backs, our bergère, it is on the back cross of the belt, on the cabriolets, on the amount of the file at the assembly and on the gilded wooden chassis seats, on a crossbar inside the frame of the belt. Pierre NOGARET (1718 - 1771), the most famous carpenter Lyonnais, received his Mastery in 1745. The work of Nogaret, whole of Louis XV style, is considerable. The lines of its armchairs, chairs, sofas ... are perfect, balanced and elegant. His works, of irreproachable quality, can be recognized by a simple glance. Most of its seats are worked in walnut or beech coated with varnish. The ornamentations, without any overload, are finely carved with roses, peonies or scrolls of foliage.
