Gabriel Madier : "landscape Of Ardeche"

RHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAA !! That annoys me! It's been three days since I tried to find a preparatory study and the documentation that goes with it and there is no way to get my hands on it ... But suddenly, I dig in cartons more or less abandoned drawings and there find wonders such as this oil on paper representing ruins at the top of a cliff covered with vegetation stand out against a busy sky and opening on a valley landscape. Fortunately, at the time of its acquisition fifteen years ago, I had the good idea to note on the marie-louise the name of the Artist who was to be annotated on the old passe-partout: Madier for Gabriel Madier (1837-1902) Ardèche painter who left many landscapes of the region. The oil absorbing paper, this technique allows to go faster than on canvas or panel, keeping a spontaneity that highlights the touch of the Artist, here in a shades of browns and greens ... 34 X 25.5 cm, mounted in a mat a little stained 65 X 50 cm.
