"A Statue Of Buddha Amida."
A lacquered and gilded wooden sculpture of Amida Nyorai (Amitabha Buddha) standing on a lotus on an architectural base, a mandorla decorated with cloud motifs is placed behind, with closed eyes and a rather protruding belly. He is wearing an elegant pleated monastic robe. He is doing the vitarka-mudrā, gesture of argumentation and explanation of the Law. The ushnisha-pearl and the third eye between the eyebrows (byakugo), which represent together the spiritual elevated state of Buddha, are both made of crystal.
