Vase Shaped Clock, Directoire Period, 18th Century flag

Object description :

"Vase Shaped Clock, Directoire Period, 18th Century"
Curious "Vase" clock from the end of the 18th century, richly decorated with a bronze bouquet adorned with Vincennes and Meissen porcelain flowers and green lacquered sheets.
Vincennes and Meissen flowers are in use mainly during the first half of the 18th century. The bouquet in question is probably a re-use of an older piece. The mixture, pretty rare, is however beautifully successful. Work around 1730 for the bouquet, 1790 for the clock.
Condition report: Revised by our watchmaker in October 2018. Lack 1 flower, very beautiful state of gilding, movement modified in 1821 (addition of the ringing) but no modification in the suspension. Wear with enamel. Sold with warranty of 2 years.
