"Mirror Table Ice Psyche Gilt Bronze Cristallo-porcelain Frileuse Empire Nineteenth"
Mirror table or psyche, finely chiseled gilt bronze mount, foot cut crystal and crystallo-porcelain * representing the famous sculpture The Frileuse de Houdon, mercury ice (original) swiveling, period I Empire early nineteenth century. This mirror is in good condition, it is of exceptional quality and finesse of execution. The top part is dismounted. A note: small weakness in the fixing of the mirror to the foot (see photo), tiny micro-splinters on the edge of the crystal at the foot (almost invisible), some small spots on the ice (a little bit in places), wear time, see photos. _________________________________ * The crystallo-ceramics is a technique of decoration of the glass which was created towards the end of the 19th century. It consists in including in a crystal object a ceramic cameo which was previously molded and then finely chiselled by hand.
