"Salt Bottle, Crystal And Silver, Charles X."
This charming bottle in crystal and solid silver is called a salt bottle or swirl bottle, it was intended for these ladies who fell swoon. Those responsible for these discomforts were the corsets that tightened their waist to make it finer, this part of their anatomy being the most appreciated in the nineteenth century, it was necessary to emphasize and enhance it. These little bottles, which all the pretty women wore on them, were intended to revive them. Filled with salts of ammonia, the strong smell emanating from them quickly brought them back to life. It is mounted with a silver lid, finely repoussé and chiseled decor, characteristic of the Charles X era, it lets appear by opening a small crystal plug which is stuck in the neck and whose button is broken. Height 10.5 cm.
