Mahogany and mahogany veneer pedestal table, Empire period.
Black marble finely cut.
The plateau rests on a truncated pyramid supported by 3 lion's legs. This kind of pedestal is fashionable.
This kind of "new" piece of furniture appears for the first time in the magazine "Meubles et objets de goût" of La Mesangère in 1806 (Plate 241 in volume 5).
