Ducel foundry or Val d'Osne, France ca. 1865. This large old fountain is a true work of sculpture. Very elegant in its shapes and patterns, it is surmounted by a putti seated in a shell. A drape flies over her head, simulating the action of the wind that we imagine. The putti rests on a dolphin which is used to pour out the water. This exceptional piece could undeniably enhance a garden or an interior courtyard. This large fountain is a creation of the Ducel Foundry, a foundry of primary importance in the 19th century. Founded in 1810, it was held for three generations. As one of the precursors for the production of works of art in cast iron, she collaborated with many sculptors such as Frédéric Iselin and Eugène Louis Lequesne. In 1878, it was bought by the Val d'Osne foundry, which took over the models that made Ducel so successful.
