After the exhibitions of the Granet Museum and the Tapestry Museum in Aix en Provence in 1982 and 1996, the presentation of the donation of 80 works to the Granet Museum in 2004, we have the chance this year to discover or rediscover the richness of the work by Jean-Marie Sorgue: his career, from the Expressionism of the 60s to the fantastic and phantasmagoric universe of his inks and monochromes. Sorgue remains an unclassifiable, singular artist whose timeless work, beyond fashions and currents, imposes itself today.
