Very beautiful cup with cherries in Paris porcelain, by Jean-Pierre Feuillet (unsigned) Adorned with flowers in its foliage, floral cartridges on a green background decorated with golden scrolls typical of the decorator on porcelain Jean-Pierre Feuillet. Son of the Prince de Condé's pastry chef, Jean-Pierre Feuillet (1777-1840) learned to paint at the school founded by the Prince in his chateau near Paris, at Chantilly. On July 20, 1814, during the Bourbon Restoration, Feuillet moved to Paris as one of the first porcelain decorators in the rue de la Paix, under the protection of the prince. Feuillet acquired the reputation of being one of the best porcelain decorators in the capital. Its suppliers of white porcelain were always of high quality, with names such as Nast and Datre fères. He was well known for his alpine scenes and the quality of his gilding. Upon his death in 1840, Jean Boyer took over his studio and continued in the same spirit.
