Woman on a deckchair in her garden, sewing. Signed lower right CR Darrieux Limed oak frame. Charles-René Darrieux 1879 - 1958 Painter of portraits, landscapes, seascapes. Illustrator Student of Cormon at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, then Baschet and Schommer at the Académie Julian. He won the second Grand Prix de Rome. His work remains open to several influences: expressionist, post-impressionist, giving an art that is both simple and mannered.
