Rectangular Mirror, Louis XVI Style - Late 19th Century

This mirror with a gilt frame, molded and beaded on the inside, is made up of an important carved ribbon motif on the pediment. It has in its center an original mercury mirror with a bevelled edge. This is accompanied by paintings on wood on each side letting imagine the continuity of the design. On the representation on the left a man in his boat reaches the shore of a lake, two large trees stand in front of him in a pile of vegetation. On the painting on the right a small house sits on the edge of a forest. This golden mirror will charm you with its ornamentation and shimmering color.
