Petronelle Van Woensel was born on May 14, 1785 in Raalte and died in 1839 in The Hague. Her training was with the painters Georgius Jacobus, Johannes van Os and Jan Van Os, with whom she became the faithful friend of her daughter Maria Margarretha van Os.
