Terracotta Sculpture

Terracotta sculpture depicting a young woman in a plant environment, holding a few flowers in her hands. This sculpture in good condition is signed by Benoît Lucien Hercule. Benoît Lucien Hercule born in Toulon on August 10, 1848 and died in Paris on November 6, 1913 is a French sculptor and medalist. BL hercule was first a student at the sculpture workshop at the arsenal of Toulon before being admitted to the studio of François Jouffroy at the school of fine arts in Paris, he exhibited at the Salon des artistes français in from 1874 he obtained several honorable mentions in 1883 and 1885, he also obtained bronze medals at the universal exhibition of 1889 and 1900. these successes enabled him to obtain public commissions in 1882 for the town hall of Paris , the facade of the Rouen Museum of Fine Arts.
