"Napoleon III Support Cabinet"
Beautiful support unit in blackened wood. It opens with two doors depicting angels and putti reading. Maple veneer interior, concealed rack lock. Nets and marquetry of brass: vines, foliage scrolls, falling flowers, garlands of leaves with bundles of lictor, crescents, Greek and flowered vases. Ornamentation of gilded bronzes: uprights cut with foliage brackets, vines, plumes of leaves and flowers, apron with asymmetrical foliage. Veined white marble top, oak frame. French polish.
