"Large Pipe Furnace In Carved Briar Root"
Large pipe bowl in briar root wood carved with the head of a bearded man, with his sulphide eyes. Root left natural unsculpted to form the hat embellished with falling trimmings below at the level of his ear. Gadrooned collar at the neck in carved ivory and rod simulating a forearm with a carved cuff and hand holding a small barrel to fit the pipe on the back. Beautiful collector's item from the 19th century, presented on a blackened wooden base. Dimensions: Height of the pipe: 27.5 cm
