Snuff Box In Gold Scales Eighteenth Paris 1778 Bouillerot Joseph
Oval snuffbox in scales and gold from the 18th century Poinçons de Paris 1778 Master silversmith BOUILLEROT Joseph received on December 24, 1759 The body is in scales and Martin varnish, the frame and all the strapping are in gold, partly openwork. Beautiful punches, The lid is decorated with a miniature painted on email, representing Venus and Mercury under the spell of Cupid. This representation is very similar to certain works by François Boucher; Chaperon Nicolas or Antonio Allegri known as Caravaggio. There are several snuff boxes from this family of goldsmiths, in famous collections;
