"Trash Sofa Louis XV Period, Eighteenth Century"
Corbeille Sofa from the Louis XV Period, in molded and carved Walnut with an eventful Backrest, which curves from its middle to fall back on the sides and form the armrests, which are moved back to allow the Ladies in Dresses to sit more easily. The Backrest is sinuous decorated with Flowers and Leaves of Roses. It rests on 8 Grooved Feet, for Great Stability. It is dressed in charm and elegance: It is covered with a Natural Silk with floral decoration, with a Cushion padded in Feather for a Great Seating Comfort. Its status as a "flying piece of furniture" explains why it is upholstered and molded on all sides, in order to be elegant whatever the angle of view. Work probably from Lyon around 1740/50.. It measures 210 cm in length (for 3 people), 64 cm in depth and 102 cm in height; Its seat height is 54 cm. It is in very good condition .
