MARCEL-LENOIR is the pseudonym of Jules OURY (1872-1931)
French painter, engraver, illustrator, jeweller. His talent was quickly recognized during his lifetime, he exhibited in the greatest Salons of his time, received public commissions and a museum was dedicated to him.
Coming from a family of goldsmiths, MARCEL6LENOIR began his studies in Paris in 1889 at the Arts-décoratifs then at the Beaux-Arts.
His work is timeless, cradled by his many influences that will evolve over the course of his career. (middle ages, symbolism, Cézanne...) In 1919-1920, Marcel-Lenoir founded the “Institute of Contemporary Aesthetics”. There he teaches the art of fresco, engraving and illustration.
