A large Empire gilt-bronze and green patinated bronze mantle clock. The female figure with a slightly raised face, her eyes to the sky, seems to be declaiming. It is most likely Erato, muse of lyric poetry, due to the presence of a lyre decoration on the top. Antoine-André Ravrio, bronzier. Circa 1810.
Very good condition (beautiful original fire gilding). Completely revised by professional watchmaker.
Height: 49 cm X Width: 40 cm X Depth: 14 cm.
An almost identical model signed Antoine-André Ravrio is kept at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris (inventory: 2014.112.31).
