ABOUT THE WORK In her paintings, Julie Nangala Robinson represents “Pirlinyanu”, her father's country of which she is the guardian, close to Mina Mina, a rocky land rich in deep water sources. Through her work on the dream of water, she develops her own pictorial language, continuing the research carried out by her mother on color contrasts. His canvases are minimalist, contemporary and very often painted using three colors (mainly white black and red) The canvas comes from an art center and has a registration number (2113-16). ABOUT JULIE NANGALA ROBINSON Julie Nangala Robertson, also known as Robinson, was born in 1973 in Yuendumu (Nothern Territory, Australia). She is one of the five daughters of the great artist Dorothy Napangardi. Julie started painting in the late nineties alongside her mother, Dorothy. It is for this reason that one can admire in these works a very elaborate and accomplished technique transmitted by his mother. Strong of her family roots and an undeniable artistic talent, she is called in the near future to become an emblematic figure of contemporary Aboriginal art.
