Very rare porcelain plate exported from Japan around 1670-1700. Decorated in underglaze blue with the central roundel containing the initials of the Dutch East India Company, VOC for (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie), surrounded by two birds among pomegranate and camellia, the six radiating border panels at the edge alternately surrounding bamboo with plum blossoms and peony, divided by narrow bands of stylized foliage. condition, four hairs, see photos, no restoration.
