"Rare Large Vanity Att. A.janssens"
Rare large oil on canvas depicting a Vanity attributed to the Flemish painter Abraham Janssens late 16th - early 17th century. Rear Renaissance style frame, slightly veiled at the top, presenting the painter's plaque. Abraham Janssens practiced from the end of the 16th century during a trip to Italy, which inspired him for many paintings. We can note the extreme richness of the subject wearing a large number of jewels as well as an ostrich feather fan. The presence of an eagle recalls power while the mirror reflects a face without jewelry and disembodied from any ostentatious attitude. Some chipping and repainting, but very good condition for its time.
