"Small Travel Writing Case In Thuya And Amaranth Burl - 2nd Half Nineteenth"
Charming Travel Case in Marquetry of Thuya and Amaranth Loupe. This is composed on its top of a speckled Thuya Burl, embellished with rosewood and brass fillet, with an amaranth frame sublimated with a brass quarter round. This writing desk is embellished in its center with a marquetry motif of the same alloy on an amaranth background. The lid part, slightly basket-handle and with the same characteristics, is provided with its key and its lock in working order, both original. Once the flap and the lid are open, the interior reveals a writing desk covered in red lambskin, decorated with gold and cold-stamped vignettes. A storage compartment, the opening of which is facilitated by a tab, is positioned below. This space dedicated to writing is surmounted by two compartments for inkwells, one of which is missing. In the center, a receptacle concealed by an amaranth cover fitted with a bone pull button allows the storage of the accessories necessary for writing. This beautiful object, steeped in history, will undoubtedly bring elegance and cachet to the desk on which you choose to place it.********
