Pair of Louis XV period fireplace andirons in gilt bronze and wrought iron. They are in the rockery style with very rare characters, men and women of the European type but dressed in the manner of China. The characters are well represented with a singular expression. Beautiful old gilding with many stains. The log irons seem original but the fixing screws have been changed. Mid-eighteenth century period.
