Silver Beaker By Jacques Duguay, Paris, 1729-1730

- Weight: 167g, Height: 9.7 cm, diameter: 8.2 cm (at the rim) & 5.2 cm (at the foot)
- Large beaker with tulip-shaped appliques rests on a molded and gadrooned pedestal. The lower register of the body delimited by a molded bead presents a decoration of appliques of lambrequins of two different cuts on a matte background. Each wall lamp with a plain border is laden with a decoration of falling fleurons and caps superimposed on a matte background. The upper edge edged with a molding is underlined by an engraved frieze on a matte background, bent rushes with jagged shells and cartouches with leafy shell, alternately. Inscription above the ring: "MA NOLETA"
- This large beaker with its rich decoration of appliques finds its quasi counterpart in the Jourdan-Barry collection [2, n°131 "Timbale, Paris, 1728-1729"] by the goldsmith Marcoult Langlois, a probable sign of a certain success of this model with customers. In addition, a beaker with appliques from 1733, by our goldsmith is kept in the Jourdan-Barry collection, n°154.
