Interesting couple of French salt workers from the very beginning of the 19th century. This couple of characters with features painted in papier-mâché and wood are dressed in traditional Loire Atlantique costumes, made of painted shells. Preserved in used condition, these decorative figurines measure 30 and 28 cm in height and are mounted on gilded wooden bases. A beautiful testimony to the craftsmanship of the French Atlantic coast at the beginning of a craftsmanship that began to create souvenir products of regional tradition.
