Henri Joseph Gommarus Carpentero (1820-1874) Circus Animals.
Carpentero is a Belgian painter from Antwerp where he was born in 1820 and died in 1874. Carpentero was a pupil of Nicaise de Keyser painter also born in Antwerp and who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Ferdinand de Braekeleer . Like his master, he painted many portraits, landscapes and rural scenes very influenced by 17th century Flemish painting. Painting painted on its original canvas and signed lower right.
