Arte Povera Writing Case, Venice 18th Century
Painted wooden travel case whose interior is decorated with color engravings cut out and glued then covered with varnish. This technique is called arte povera, it developed in France and Venetia in the 18th century.
The lid reveals a magnificent tray with a red and yellow background under which we discover small drawers for storing pens, writing sets, etc.
The general condition is very good, some small restorations here and there. Decor and original polychromy.
