Pressed molded glass circa 1940 enhanced with a gray patina

The Bacchantes vase is one of Lalique's emblematic creations.
It is one of the rare pieces whose presence in the catalog has been continuous since its creation in 1927.
First in glass, it has been made in crystal since 1947.
In 2010, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of René Lalique, this vase was revisited with the Révélation Bacchantes vase, by placing it in a crystal cube.

René Lalique has been inspired by the representation of the female body throughout his career.
Correspondent of the Bacchantes to the Maenads of Greek mythology.

Here, the young priestesses of Bacchus form a round of sculptural nudes in bas-relief of disturbing sensuality and dance to celebrate the god of wine, the vine and excess.

Heavy pressed glass with a high relief design of frolicking nudes highlighted by the sienna patina all around the exterior in various poses.
Model created in 1927
