Superb large vase decorated with poppies by Henri Muller, one of the Muller brothers in Lunéville, signed with a butterfly. This fully acid-etched multilayer glass vase is very finely engraved. The translucent glass left shiny, an opalescent layer, a bright blue layer, a bright green layer, lined with a red layer which represents the flowers and the poppy leaves, this decor as if faded signs a work of the first period. Around 1900/1910. Dimensions: Height: 41 cm Base diameter: 11 cm Collar diameter: 9.8 cm Maximum circumference: 58 cm It is signed under the base with the famous and rare butterfly signature of Henri Muller: H. Muller Croismare near Nancy matched with 'a butterfly. Rare piece with its magnificent poppies decor, typical of Art Nouveau, its size and volume and especially its butterfly signature. The vase is referenced in the book "Glass Art Nouveau - The example of the Muller Brothers" published in 2007 by Somogy Art Editions and the Nancy School Museum (see page 77) A rare collector's item!
