Old Box Covered With Pink Silk, Painted And Embroidered
Beautiful box entirely covered with silk, both outside and inside. The outer lining of the box lid is embroidered and painted. The 4 vertical sides are covered with curly organza which, over time, has been "cut" along the folds, creating an evocative game of transparencies. The inevitable deterioration of the silk, this object is more than 100 years old, has in no way altered the beauty and freshness of this box probably intended to collect handkerchiefs or letters.
