Hélène Martin (1912-2012) Les Carrières, pastels, 47.5 x 27.5 cm. Born in 1912 in Marseille, Hélène Martin trained at the School of Fine Arts in the same city. She frequented the Marseille artistic community and befriended Pierre Ambrogiani and Antoine Ferrari. She paints landscapes of the Var and Marseilles with contrasting colors and angular shapes.
