Green Wingback Bergère Armchair
A fine Louis XVI style “Bergère à oreilles' painted wingback armchair, upholstered to the back, partial arms and seat in sage green velvet, and standing on elegantly tapering and fluted feet. Padded armrests give way to beautifully scrolled corners. This wonderfully comfortable armchair features side 'wings', which were originally designed to block draughts for warmth, and provide extra privacy to the sitter. The frame is painted in grey lacquer, giving it a wonderfully aged feel, which would complement any living room, bedroom or office. 19th century
