Lounge chair in bent and stained beech with cane seat. The backrest is adjustable in inclination. Support reinforcement. It bears the manufacturer's label "THONET Wien" Michael THONET, master cabinetmaker and furniture designer was born in Germany on July 21, 1796 and died on March 3, 1871. In 1853 he transmitted his firm to his 5 sons; it then bears the name of "THONET Frères" In 1855, he invented the revolutionary technique of bending wood by autoclave, which made it possible to produce more solid and less expensive furniture. When he died, he was considered one of the very first designers of our time.
