The painter specializing in floral paintings gives us here a still life of flowers enriched by a delicate work on light. Three bouquets are arranged on an entablature in front of a window. The transparency of a curtain lets outside light filter through, bathing the painting in a soft luminosity. The pastel colors blend into a harmonious gradient of white, pink towards purple.
Gaston, Alfred Lecreux, landscape flower painter and watercolorist was a pupil of A. Boucher and J. Noël. He started at the salon in 1877.
