Pretty and spectacular model of the mythical Normandy of approximately 3m15. Ideal for decoration of a brewery or other .... He left Saint-Nazaire for his tests on May 5, 1935 and arrived in Le Havre on May 11 to begin his maiden voyage on May 29 to New York. He conquered the Blue Ribbon, from this first crossing in 4 days, 3 hours and 2 minutes at an average of 29.98 knots (around 55.5km / h), taken from the Italian liner REX which had held him since 1933. The reception of the United States was indescribably enthusiastic, hardly imaginable nowadays. During the return crossing, he broke his own record with peak speeds of over 32.3 knots, or almost 60km / h. During his short life, NORMANDIE did not cease to be a magnificent ambassador of France, whose technical and artistic genius he represented. Liner of all superlatives: it was considered the representative of French technology and the ambassador of Decorative Arts.
