Pair of Louis XVI period chairs, lyre back, stamped A Bonnemain Very beautiful model, particularly elegant. Rare hat folder, with openwork lyre, flanked by small columns, crowned with plumes. Very fine sculpture of heart rays, and a fine pearl; sculpture found on the sleepers, the backrest and the lyre Anterior arched cross member Tapered fluted feet Rechampi off-white, probably period Covered with a pretty fabric, fairly recent trim (restoration of some rebates of the sleepers) Parisian work by the end of the eighteenth century It bears a double stamp an illegible may be H Jacob the second A BONNEMAIN, master in Paris in 1753 this type of beautiful seat is mentioned as one of its specialties (cf Kjellberg, pp 81-82-83)
