Full-length portrait of a pretty water carrier from the countryside around Rome. In the background we recognize the ruins of an aqueduct. Successful light treatment: She comes from one side and illuminates the rock she is leaning on, her face, her white coat, the copper water containers she carries at the end of a bar and and them ruins at the bottom. The oil was painted on a mahogany panel, the original frame is gilded with mecca. It dates from the end of the first half of the 19th century. Some small gaps in gilding on the frame, the painting itself is in very good condition. Tiny lack of blue in the sky.
