"Elegant Court Man, Eighteenth, At His Mail, Carrying The Sword Of His Quality. Ep. Louis XVI"
A handsome man of the court at his desk writing, visibly in response to an open fold placed near his left hand. He carries at the same time at his side although seated the sword of his quality, court or city that one can think, by observing him, enriched with precious stones.Turned and looking we see him dressed in a silk velvet coat with very rich golden facings dangling on either side of the jacket and the cuffs.
The slightly closed waistcoat reveals a fine and undoubtedly rich waistcoat on which the lace tie falls on the collar. From its sleeves emerge the facings of silk lace.
He wears a wig with simple hammers, the ponytail hanging over the back of his neck. A fine gold jewel hangs from his left ear.
This portrait is in very good condition, re-lined very long ago. 18th century baguette frame on reinforced support. Dimensions:
