Sainte Anne, 15th Century
Saint Anne became one of the most famous and beloved saints in the 15th century. As the grandmother of Jesus, her special power as a heavenly intercessor for her grandson was considered. Her veneration took on great forms, especially in the Rhineland and the Netherlands. This St. Anna is a Brabant statue. The special feature is a standing Christ child.
