18th Century Engraving : Roiale (sic) d'Hiver

Artist: Duhamel Dumonceau Henri Louis ( 1700-1782 )
Henri Duhamel du Monceau physicist, botanist and agronomist cultivated trees in his fields. He was the author of many important books on subjects as diverse as agronomy, marine architecture and ichthyology and a member of all major scientific academies. This treatise on the cultivation of fruits turned out to be of considerable importance, and the drawings by Magdeleine-Francoise Basseporte, Aubriet ... and engraved by Catherine Haussard, PL Cor, Henriquez Herisset fils, Menil, Charles Milsan, Poletnich. .. were among the most beautiful botanical engravings of the period.
