Particularly active during the Italian campaign, he distinguished himself during the battles of Mondovia and Mantua. Built in the 13th century, it was originally the home of the Counts of Comminges. This painting is part of an important series of four large portraits of personalities of the Empire commissioned by the former owner of the castle and in our possession: Maréchal Augereau, Maréchal Victor, Maréchal Sérurier and Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand.
